“Just Walk Out” bars by Amazon are a futuristic take on retail convenience. These stores utilise advanced technology to allow customers to shop for items without the need to check out at a traditional register. Shoppers simply enter the store, grab the items they want and then leave. The O2 is implementing three of the JWO bars to reduce queuing times during events.

OR Consulting have been employed to design the Building Services and Lighting for the fit-out of the bars.

The project approach sought to:

• Provide a fully interfaced system to meet Amazon’s technical requirements within the constraints of The O2.
• Coordinate all services including the setting out of bespoke camera detection systems.
• Achieve architectural and function lighting to facilitate detection systems.
• Provide all interfaces including temperature control systems to new server systems and cellar areas.
